What a crazy hot summer it is at the moment… Heat waves for days or even weeks with temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius and above. Today the temperature even hit 38 degrees Celsius in the Netherlands! O_O I mean, how am I going to get through this ridiculously hot weather? I can only think of a few: LOT’s of water, ice cubes, a blower and.. SMOOTHIES!! ^^
So these last few days I have been hooked up with smoothies! Every day another one. ^^ These smoothies are fruity, healthy and if you add enough ice in it, it’s also very refreshing! For this blog, I am going to show you a few of my favourite smoothies! 😀
I have collected six smoothies over the week:
1. Thick green smoothie: avocado, spinach, banana, oranges and yoghurt;
2. Red smoothie: all sorts of berries, banana and yoghurt;
3. Yellow smoothie: mango, pineapple, banana, oranges and mint;
4. Pink smoothie: raspberries, orange juice, banana, milk yoghurt;
5. Light green smoothie: apple, cucumber, ginger, banana and cinnamon;
6. Breakfast smoothie: oatmeal, blueberries, milk or yoghurt.
Nr. 1 – a thick, green smoothie
This smoothie tastes good and looks very healthy. It has some fruit and vegetables in it, what makes it the best smoothie when you want to boost your body with all these vitamins and minerals. It is easy and quick to make, so here is what you need:
Ingredients
– 1/2 avocado
– a hand full of (washed) spinach
– 1/2 banana
– 2 oranges (peeled, but not pressed)
– 240g yoghurt (1 cup)
– 240ml water or ice cubes (1 cup)
*Note: you can add all kinds of seeds in it, like linseeds, sesame seed, sunflower seeds, anything that you like!
Materials
– blender
– measuring cup
– chopping board
– small knife
– cute glass with a straw
Step 1
The first thing you want to do is to chop the avocado and banana. My personal preference is not to press the oranges, but if you don’t like pulp in your smoothie then you can make orange juice of it.
Step 2
Wash the spinach (if it’s not washed before) and add it in the blender. Add also the rest of the fruit (avocado, oranges and the banana) into the blender.
Step 3
Next step is to add the seeds and yoghurt. Personally, I prefer just plain yoghurt. But you can add any sorts of yoghurt that you like!
Step 4
And for the final step and most fun part: BLENDING!!! After you blend your beautiful green smoothie, you can pour it into the cutest big glass you can find and add a straw to it!
And here you go, your delicious smoothie!
Nr. 2 – Red smoothie
This smoothie is very sweet and it is perfect to drink in the hot summer sun! I personally like to add a lot of different kinds of berries for the mixed flavour. So, what you need:
Ingredients
– small hand of strawberries (optional: frozen)
– small hand of blueberries (optional: frozen)
– small hand of blackberries (optional: frozen)
– small hand of raspberries (optional: frozen) >>>>>> sóóó many berries ❤
– 1/2 banana
– 2 oranges
– 120g yoghurt (1/2 cup)
– 240ml water or ice cubes (1 cup)
*Note: you can add all kinds of seeds in it, like linseeds, sesame seed, sunflower seeds, anything that you like!
Materials
– blender
– measuring cup
– chopping board
– small knife
– cute glass with a straw
Step 1
Okay, so what I mostly do it to buy the berries in a mixed frozen package. If you did this too, then you can just add 200g of the mixed berries into the blender.
If you prefer to take the fresh berries separately, that’s no problem. Just add a small hand of easy berry fruit into the blender, but try to use the same amount to keep the flavour balanced!
Step 2
Add the banana, oranges, yoghurt and seeds into the blender. If you used the frozen berries, then it is no use to add a lot of ice cubes, because your drink will already be very cold. But if you have chosen for the fresh berries, you could add some ice cubes in it!
Step 3
When you’re done with adding everything into the blender, then it is time to BLEND!!
Step 4
Pour your smoothie into a glass and add a nice straw to it! Enjoy!!
Nr. 3 – Yellow smoothie
This smoothie looks fun and tastes amazing. It is very fruity but not overly sweet (like the red one :P).
Ingredients
– 1/2 mango
– pineapple
– 2 oranges (pressed into orange juice)
– 1 banana
– few leaves of mint
– 240ml yoghurt
*Note: you can add all kinds of seeds in it, like linseeds, sesame seed, sunflower seeds, anything that you like!
Materials
– blender
– orange juicer (optional)
– measuring cup
– chopping board
– small knife
– cute glass with a straw
Step 1
With this smoothie, there are a few options to your own preferences. You can choose to buy the mango and pineapple fresh or in frozen packages. And you can choose if you like your oranges to be pressed into orange juice or not and have orange pulp in it.
Step 2
If you go for fresh fruit, you chop the mango, banana and pineapple into small pieces. There are different ways to chop the fruit. If you have never done this before… (like me XD) I would recommend watching a video on how to chop it correctly! (I ruined my first mango… XD OOPS!!) But if you bought the frozen fruit, you can just add it directly into the blender.
Step 3
Next step is to press the oranges. You can use an orange juicer for this, makes it a lot easier. Afterwards, you can add the juice into the blender. If you have chosen to just peel and cut the oranges in pieces, then you can add that. Add also a few mint leaves, seeds and the yoghurt.
Step 4
If you have used the fresh fruit, you can add some ice cubes for the fresh cool taste. But if you have used the frozen fruit, then there is no need to add some extra cool ice cubes. But you can always choose to do that if you like. 🙂
Step 5
Now it’s time to blend that amazing yellow smoothie!!! Pour it into a glass with a straw and enjoy!!
Nr. 4 – Pink smoothie
This smoothie has a lovely colour and that’s why I like this one so much.
Ingredients
– full and of raspberries
– 1 banana
– 2 pressed oranges (or fresh orange juice)
– 240g yoghurt (1 cup)
– 120ml milk (half a cup)
– 480ml ice cubes (2 cups)
Materials
– blender
– orange juicer (optional)
– measuring cup
– chopping board
– small knife
– cute glass with a straw
Step 1
If you bought fresh oranges, then you have to press them with an orange juicer (or you can just buy orange juice in the store :P). Add the juice, raspberries and banana into the blender.
Step 2
Add also the yoghurt. You can choose any kind of yoghurt that you like! Add some milk and the ice cubes.
Step 3
Now you can turn on the blender! Enjoy your super duper cute looking pink smoothie!!
Nr. 5 – Light, green smoothie
This smoothie is light and fruity by flavour.
Ingredients
– 1 apple
– 1 cucumber
– 1 thee spoon of grated ginger
– 1 banana
– 1 thee spoon of cinnamon
– 240ml water or ice cubes (1 cup)
*Note: you can add all kinds of seeds in it, like linseeds, sesame seed, sunflower seeds, anything that you like!
Materials
– blender
– measuring cup
– chopping board
– small knife
– cute glass with a straw
Step 1
First, you need to peel the apple and ginger. Then chop the apple, cucumber and banana into pieces. Grate the ginger into the tiniest pieces as you can! The tinier, the better.
Step 2
Add the chopped ingredients to the blender and add a thee spoon of cinnamon for some extra flavour. Then, add some water en/ or ice cubes.
Step 3
Blend it all together, pour into a glass. Add a straw and ENJOY!!
Nr. 6 – Breakfast Smoothie
This smoothie is what you can make to kick-start your day! Because of the oatmeal, it is a good breakfast smoothie. And the fruit helps to boost your vitamins in the morning! It is also super easy and quick to make, especially if you have a busy morning schedule.
Ingredients
– a full hand of blueberries
– 1 banana
– 120g oatmeal (1/2 cup)
– 240ml milk (1 cup) Ór 120ml yoghurt with 120ml water
Materials
– blender
– measuring cup
– chopping board
– small knife
– cute glass with a straw
Step 1
Add the blueberries into the blender (fresh or frozen). Add the banana, oatmeal and milk (or yoghurt with water) into the blender.
Step 2
Blend everything together, pour it into a glass. Add a straw and ENJOY your morning smoothie!

Long time supporter, and thought I’d drop a comment.
Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking what theme
you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it?
:P)
I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite
a bit.
In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would
appreciate any feedback) – it’s still in the works.
Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care of yourself
during the coronavirus scare!
