My vocal journey

Since I was very little, I loved to sing and started to take singing classes when I was 14 years old. Every week for over six years I went to my vocal coach for feedback. He taught me the basics of singing and challenged me to sing more difficult songs. I practised songs of Demi Lovato, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Pink, Paramore, Halestorm, Musicals and many, many more…

Here I performed in a talentshow in 2013! 🙂

My greatest Idol is Demi Lovato. Her vocal talent is beyond amazing! I always admired her devotion to music and her career. She has mastered her techniques and vocal range. So I was inspired by her to learn that too. But of course, I still have a lot to learn to get that far. XD

When I moved to Utrecht for College, I had to quit my classes due to the distance. And during College, I didn’t have the time nor money (singing classes in Utrecht are really expensive…) to pick up any classes. So over the few College years, I began to sing and practice less and less on my own, until I didn’t sing anymore at all. I slowly began to feel unhappy and I felt like something was missing. But at first, I didn’t think that feeling unhappy was connected with me not singing anymore.

When I moved to my current apartment, January this year, I wanted to pick up my passion for music. I didn’t know what or how exactly, but I only knew I would. After researching the internet of possibilities in this small town, I found a small Choir group called ‘KECX’ who practised every Friday evening on the other side of Culemborg. At first, I didn’t know if I was the right person to sing in a Choir. I only sang vocal lead parts alone or in bands and never tried to sing with different vocal parts in a group. But I took that as a challenge and made an appointment with this Choir for an introductory meeting. And it was super awesome to learn all these new people and try out new songs!

Now a few months later, we are practising a lot of different songs at once. Like everyone is a fan of Pentatonix, so we have a few songs of them. And at 14 and 16 December 2018 we have our Christmas performances planned in Culemborg. So we are now practising a Christmas Repertoire. 😀

Next week we are going to make an Introduction video and PR material for own Website and Facebook page:

So stay tuned! 🙂

Hopefully, you enjoyed this blog! 😛
